Petites sessions entre nous sur le spot de Mirissa. Sans prétention, mais hypra mignon. Bon entrainement pour ma fille Uhaina qui essaie sa nouvelle planche Axel Lorentz flambant neuve.

Happy end

Le voyage touche à sa fin. Dans ce trip, riche de rencontres, chacun a apporté sa touche de bonne humeur et sa vision du surf quelque soit son niveau. Nous avons eu énormément de plaisir à surfer avec Nildie et sa sœur  Nilvi qui a repris le flambeau de championne des Philippines, détrônant ainsi son ainée. L’humour et la gentillesse de chacun, combiné au professionnalisme de Eric, a contribué à un trip hors du commun…

The travel is finish. This trip was just perfect. Every body bring their happyness and share their feeling of the surf. We had lot of pleasure to surf with Nildie and her sister Nilvi the new Philippines’ champ. Funny moment with the professionalism of the photographer has make this trip amazing.

J’assiste également à mon premier combat de coq au village à côté. C’est de la folie ! Les hommes crient de toute part pour parier sur leur coq favori ou du moins celui qui leur semble le plus guerrier. Chaque animal est équipé d’une lame tranchante qui prolonge un de leurs ergots. C’est court, mais intense et violent, ça se termine toujours dans un bain de sang… Impressionnant !

I have the opportunity to see a coq fighting in the village near by. It’s crazy ! Mens are shouting to bet on their favorite coq or the one who seems more warrior. All animals have a knife ties on their foot. It’s a short fight, but really intensive and violent. At the end you always have blood and a dead coq… Gore !!!

Avec le départ des filles c’est également le swell qui nous a quitté. Nous en profitons pour quelques balades sur l’île et rallonger la collection photo de Eric Malherbe, notre photographe.

The swell drop a lot, and we enjoy cruising on the Island and discover new place and work on different photo shooting, by Eric Malherbe.

Catherine

C’est déjà le dernier jour pour Catherine, et Pauline doit nous quitter prématurément suite à sa coupure au pied. 5 points de sutures et privée de surf pour une bonne quinzaine de jours. Mais dans la boîte à photo un barrel digne de cette pro du surf sur le fameux spot de Cloud 9 ! A suivre sur les prochains magazines de surf pendant la grisaille de l’hiver… Les filles, pour la énième fois vont se lever à 4h30 du mat, pas pour surfer cette fois, mais pour prendre le bateau pour Surigao, puis l’avion pour Cebu pour enfin prendre leur vol international sur Qatar Airways. Un long trip mais qui en valait la peine. C’est magique ici !

It’s already the last day of Catherine, and also Pauline have to leave ealier, she had a bad cut on her foot after hurting her fins. 5 stitch, no surf for minimum 2 weeks… But in the box a nice barrel on the famous spot of Cloud Nine ! Follow it on the next winter/spring surfing mag. The grils will have to wake up again early, but this time to catch the boat to Surigao, then a plane to Cebu, and another plane on Qatar Airways, and a plane, and a plane and a…

Tuning

Nous avons trouvé un spot pour nous tout seul au nord de l’île. Carlito a organisé un mini van local tuningué à mort, musique ahouec ! Morceaux des années 80 remixés synthé, volume maximum ! On est motivé comme des balles, il fait grand beau, à nous les vagues !

We found a spot at the dead end on North of the Island. Carlito organise a local mini van full tuning, music high volume ! 80′s music non stop. We are motivate, sunshine, no one in water, waves are only for us !!!

Jour 7. Premier coup de soleil ! Il est puissant ici, et surtout nous restons un peu trop longtemps à l’eau. Elle est si bonne, si claire, tout est tellement fluide.  C’est la liberté de surfer en maillot.

Day 7. First sunburn… It’s powerfull here, specially when you spend hours and hours in the Ocean. The water is so cool here, so pure and  clear. It’s freedom to surf on swimwear only !

Tourisme

Maintenant que nous nous levons aux aurores, nous pouvons enfin faire une petite visite de l’île en rentrant plus tôt du surf. Nous louons des motos et parcourons les villages de Siargao faisant l’animation locale…

Now, with early wake up, we have time to visit the Island after our surf session. We rent some local motorbike and cruise around the island. We become the local animation in the small villages.
